About Us

In Austerk, we have as our purpose to produce the best visual novels, presenting stories that connect and captivate the player with each narrative and visual detail, having mainly teenagers and young adults among our objective audience. Projects

In the last few years, Austerk has created and developed 2 visual novels (narration products): Ausfagner and Horatio: Connector 13. Next, we will tell you what each one is about and the testimonies of a few team members on their experience during the creation and development process.

Ausfagner

Ausfagner is a visual novel released at first as a paperback book in Spanish back in 2018. During 2021, the English version was launched under the name Ausranger. In this story the player is turned into the protagonist and is involved in the adventure of a world that seems to be common and mundane at first, however, it hides a big secret, which is the relationship between ancient magic and political control. The characters live through situations where it is difficult to differentiate what's real from what's elaborated by their enemies. With a great degree of realism, Ausfagner exposes complex themes in regards to combat, politics and strategy, creating a unique and vast universe for the reader as a result. Each narrated action has a great level of detail and expression.

Graphic experience

"When I was called in order to be part of the project, I took interest in the content and all the potential that I could offer from my expertise, aside from the professional challenge and being able to grow alongside Ausfagner.

My supervisors gave me the confidence and freedom to be able to capture each part of me in my illustrations.

I was able to let loose all of my creativity with this project. I was allowed to create and experiment with compositions, coloured styles and have as a final result the graphic style for our website.

Creative experience

"Ausfagner takes advantage of digital space and anime aesthetics in order to sell a story of realistic fiction to the international market.

The inspiration for the plot of the story and graphic visuals reference come from the Asian market.

We want to compete toe-to-toe with modern fiction products and become an important narrative business reference for the South American market.”

Marco Dávila - Scriptwriter and creator (Ausfagner)

Horatio Conector 13

Horatio: Connector 13 is a project that will be released for the international market. This graphic novel has a stylized Asian graphic style with a nice and modern tone. It is inspired by a Peruvian fiction novel. It has 25 chapters, each one can be read within 20-30 minutes, giving a similar experience to a tv series. The plot revolves around two teenagers involved in a fight for the safety of the universe, fighting by the side of time and space travelers, aliens and psychics. In this universe even the most daily activity can become a weapon in the world of dreams or the "Oneiric", the place where the characters battle and hide the secrets of an unknown multidimensional deity.

Developer experience

Being part of the Horatio: Connector 13 team has been a very enriching experience. It was a completely different project, in this visual novel we had been able to maintain a close relation and contact with the story. The coordination and improvements in each artistic detail in relation with the characters and context of the environments while also being able to get a harmonious outcome between originally 3D environments and our 2D characters. This very detailed aspect, the immersive functionalities and the narrative of the game generate an interesting proposal.

Creative experience

"Horatio: Connector 13 was a challenge in many aspects. A complete study of the source material was done, given that the visual novel is based on an already existing book, however, its difficulty didn't stop right there. Horatio: Connector 13 is not an adaptation, but an original sequel specially designed for a new platform: the audiovisual one. In order to keep coherence between the new script, the previous story and the narrative agility which demands the 22 minutes format, it was necessary to display discipline, precision and creativity in equal parts"

Marco Davila - Scriptwriter and creator (Ausfagner)

Graphic experience

After being part of the Ausfagner project, I had my next challenge in the Horatio: Connector 13 project. It has been one of the most important projects in my life and as an artist because it helped me by being able to test styles and techniques which I had never had experimented with before. Between all of the team we had an agreement to pursue a visual line and a more unique style which would go according to the topics approached in the game. Likewise, I was able to create the characters of Horatio, who represented a step forward not only for me but for the enterprise as well. I wouldn't have been able to get where I am and felt realized as an artist if it wouldn't have been by the help of my new family: Austerk.
